Sapelo Lighthouse

Sapelo Lighthouse, Georgia Picture Postcard

Click here for travel and tourism information

The Sapelo Lighthouse today sits as a silent monument of the former glory days of water-borne commerce in the region. Inactivated since 1905, the Sapelo light was renovated in 1998 and once again shines on coastal waters.  The lighthouse was repainted in its post-bellum 1800's colors, which features wide, alternating red and white bands from bottom to top.
