In the heart of Midtown, Atlanta's most loved park, Piedmont Park has a
surprising history unknown to most who enjoy it. It has served as a farm, a
World War I encampment, a driving club, and as the grounds for the 1895 Cotton
States and International Exposition - all before becoming a public park!
Over the years, this historic site has hosted many of the events that have
helped shape Atlanta. Nearly 3,000,000 people a year visit Piedmont Park, making
it one of the most heavily used parks in the southeastern United States.
