Visionary veterans of the World War II 10th Mountain Division founded Vail, Colorado, in 1962.  Vail is now consistently voted the #1 ski resort in North America, with 33 chair lifts and over 5,000 acres of ski-able terrain.  Nice vision guys!  This view is in the heart of the pedestrian village at the base of the Gore Mountain Range.
